Westcliffe

from $16.00
This image is available for the following products: Metal Prints, Canvas Prints, Framed Prints, Acrylic Wall Prints, Acrylic Blocks, Standout Prints, Giclee Fine Art Prints Captured on the night of the new moon August 2021 this stunning composite image of the galactic center is sure to cause you pause and stare. Westcliffe is famous for being home to some of the darkest skies in the US and every milky way season I try to get there. The stars are something most people do not have the luxury of being able to see let alone truly experience like this. Being a Colorado photographer, I almost think it is a requirement to get out under the stars and do your best to bring the magic to those who are not able to see them. This image is composed of 13 separate shots at 24mm and an exposure of 9 seconds, they are combined to produce an image with very little noise. This technique allows you to bring out an image that far surpasses what the naked eye can see although, in my opinion, still fails to truly replicate just how special laying out under a sky like this in person really is.
