Night Sky and Lake

This along with the other astrophotography captured at Sand Beach were done in late August 2021. I stayed up most of the night and braved the 30 degrees weather with my camera to capture some of the last great moments of milky way season. On this night the moon was about 1 week past being full so very much large and in the sky. The downfall of the moon being this prevalent is the stars will be slightly less bright in the sky, the benefit is the lake and foreground are incredibly well lit. At just the right moment both are well balanced to create a beautiful composition that wouldn’t be possible without the moon.
